Tiny Treasures

From May 14th to May 20th, 2022, The Friends of the Fort Lauderdale Libraries presented “Tiny Treasures: The Meticulous Craftsmanship of Miniature Rooms”.

The exhibit showcased three miniature rooms that had been donated to the library. On May 20th, the Friends welcomed Sophia Harris, Administrator from the International Association of Miniature Artisans to present a free educational program about the history of miniature rooms before the three rooms were auctioned to support library programs.

Moonlight Tales

On February 26, 2022, two hundred guests joined the Fort Lauderdale library for "Moonlight Tales: Love Your Library" celebrating National Library Lover's Month with a free live performances honoring libraries, librarians and book lovers. Hosted by Misty Eyez, a leading LGBTQ rights activist and entertainer, the event presented and sponsored by the Friends of Fort Lauderdale Libraries and Broward County Library at the Fort Lauderdale Women's Club featured adult storytelling and performances by Dr. Joel Ying and Chetter Galloway and live music from virtuoso jazz guitarist Martin Hand and the Gold Coast Jazz Society musicians
